The easiest way to share a spinning wheel online

Dec 30, 2025

One of the things I care most about with Spin The Wheel Of Names is keeping it effortless. If a tool is fun but clunky to share, it breaks the magic a little. So today I’m excited to share two new, super-simple ways to share your spinning wheel online—both designed to get out of your way and let the wheel do its thing.

1. Share a wheel instantly – no login required

This one is all about speed and simplicity.

You can now share a spinning wheel without creating an account or logging in at all. Just build your wheel, click the Share button, and that’s it.

Behind the scenes, all your wheel data - items, colors, options and settings - is neatly encoded directly into the URL. That means the link contains everything needed to recreate your wheel exactly as you designed it.

So sharing becomes as easy as: copy, paste & send.

Drop it in a message, email, lesson plan, Slack channel, or group chat. Anyone who opens the link sees the same wheel you made, instantly. No friction, no barriers.

This is perfect for quick decisions, classroom use, games with friends, or those moments when you just want to spin and move on.

2. Make your wheel public – permanent links, full control

If you do log in, you unlock the second sharing option: public wheels.

When you’re signed in, you can choose to make a wheel public. This gives you a permanent, clean URL that you can share anywhere—on a website, in a document, or with a large group.

Here’s the key part: 👉 only you can edit it.

Others can spin the wheel, use it, and enjoy it—but they can’t change the items, colors, or settings. Your wheel stays exactly how you want it, unless you decide to update it.

This is ideal for:

  • teachers and facilitators
  • recurring events
  • shared activities
  • long-term use wheels

You get stability for sharing, plus full creative control.

Both sharing options are now live, and they work beautifully together: instant sharing when you need speed, permanent sharing when you need consistency.

As always, I built this to feel obvious, fast, and a little bit magical.

Give it a spin - and share away 🎡

Cheers,
Stan
